Responsible Gambling at Shikaka
Stay in control at Shikaka: set deposit and loss limits, take a break or self-exclude, spot the warning signs, and find free confidential help across Europe.
Gambling should stay fun. This guide shows the tools Shikaka gives you to stay in control, the signs worth watching for, and where to turn if play stops feeling good. Short version: set limits early, and use them.
Set deposit, loss, and session limits
You can cap your own play in a minute:
- Go to Account → Responsible play.
- Choose a daily, weekly or monthly limit for deposits, losses, or session length.
- Save it. Lower limits apply instantly; increases wait 24 hours to take effect.
Limits are the simplest, most effective tool here. Set them when you’re calm, not mid-session.
Taking a break — cool-off and self-exclusion
Sometimes a pause is the right call. Shikaka offers several lengths:
- 24-hour cool-off
- A short reset. Your account locks for a day, then reopens automatically.
- 7-day pause
- A week away with no action needed to return.
- 30-day timeout
- A longer break when you want real distance.
- 6-month or permanent self-exclusion
- Closes the account to play. During this period we won’t send you promotions, and reopening requires contacting support after the term ends.
Reality checks
A reality check is a pop-up that reminds you how long you’ve been playing and how much you’ve staked. Enable it under Responsible play and choose an interval — every 30 or 60 minutes works well. It’s a quiet nudge to decide whether to keep going.
Signs that gambling has stopped being fun
Be honest with yourself if you notice any of these:
- Playing longer or more often than you planned.
- Chasing losses, trying to win back what’s gone.
- Betting money meant for bills, rent or food.
- Hiding your play from people close to you.
- Borrowing money to gamble.
- Losing sleep, or feeling anxious about it.
- Missing work, study or family time.
- Feeling relief only when you’re playing.
One or two now and then isn’t a verdict. A pattern is worth acting on.
Where to get help
You don’t have to handle it alone. These services are free, confidential, and independent of any casino:
- GamCare — helpline and live chat, UK and beyond.
- BeGambleAware — advice and a self-assessment tool.
- Gamblers Anonymous — local and online support groups.
- Your doctor — a good first conversation for the bigger picture.
- A trusted friend or family member — saying it out loud helps.
A quick reality check
Two honest questions:
- Have you played longer than you planned this week?
- Have you tried to win back a recent loss?
If both answers are yes, that’s a signal — not a failure. Set a deposit limit, take a 24-hour cool-off, and reach out to one of the services above. If it feels bigger, the helplines are there day and night.
How Shikaka supports you: every account includes the limit, timeout and self-exclusion tools described here, our support team is trained to help you set them, and we never push promotions on a player who has asked for a break.
For account questions while you’re at it, the login guide covers locking down security, and the full help center has the rest.
